This charming handcrafted birdhouse is made from two dried, hard-shelled gourds. The bottom gourd is an apple gourd, dyed red with leather dye, and topped with a natural gourd “hat,” making each piece truly one of a kind.
Designed for wrens and other small birds, this birdhouse features a 1.5-inch entrance hole, perfect for nesting and raising young.

Because gourds are a natural product, each birdhouse will vary slightly in shape and size — no two are exactly alike.
Care & Placement
Recoat with polyurethane yearly to extend the life of the finish
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight when possible to reduce fading
Minimize exposure to harsh weather such as freezing and heavy rain
Perches are not included by design. Birds do not need perches, and leaving them off helps reduce access for predators.
Drainage & Ventilation
Holes are drilled in the bottom of the gourd to allow for proper drainage and ventilation, keeping the nesting space dry and comfortable.
